Sidekick

Quickstart

A two-minute conversation with a sidekick you made.

Create someone

/sidekick new Nova, an upbeat release engineer who ships small and explains briefly

Haiku turns the sentence into a persona: name, glyph, color, voice, catchphrase, and a short character brief. Nova is active at once.

Start talking

/sidekick talk

One chime. Say what you want done, then pause. Your words appear in the band as they are recognized, then they are sent as your prompt.

Hear the answer, and cut in

Nova answers in a sentence or two, out loud. Another chime means it's your turn. If the answer is going the wrong way, just talk over it: two words that aren't Nova's own stop the speech and become your next prompt.

Decide by voice

When Nova needs a choice, the question and its numbered options are read aloud. Say "the second one", say the option's name, say "yes", or answer in a few words of your own.

Stop

Say "stop" while Nova is working to cancel the turn. Say "end talk", or press x on the band, to leave talk mode. A lower chime confirms.

Useful next

  • /sidekick opens the roster pane: 1–9 switch sidekicks, m mutes, t toggles talk, 0 turns the sidekick off.
  • /sidekick mute keeps the persona and header but stops the speech.
  • /sidekick off returns to plain Claude.
