Sidekick

Introduction

Persona agents you can talk to inside Claude Code.

Sidekick is a Claude Code mod. It hands your session to a persona you describe in one sentence, and that persona is the one talking to you: it explains, does and fixes things in character, asks you the moment it needs a decision, and speaks its replies in its own voice. In talk mode you talk back, hands-free.

🦊 Rudy is ready. "Ship it or delete it."

/sidekick talk
🎙 Talk mode on. Just speak; Rudy answers out loud and listens again.

What changes

  • Every reply is headed by the sidekick: its glyph and name, the spinner says Rudy is on it…, the question dialog says Rudy asks:.
  • It asks instead of guessing. The persona is told to use Claude Code's question tool the moment input is needed, with short, concrete options.
  • It is short. The first sentence of a reply is spoken; the whole reply is a few lines unless you ask for more.
  • You can talk to it. Talk mode listens, sends what you said, speaks the answer, and listens again. Talk over it to interrupt.

Where to start

macOS only, for now

Speech out uses macOS speech; speech in uses macOS speech recognition. On Linux and Windows the persona works, with text only.
